The man behind the mugs

About the Host

One guy, two cups, and a couple decades of stories. Meet Steve — former rock frontman, retired soldier, and your weekly bar-stool storyteller.

The host of One Guy Two Cups raising two beer mugs

From the Hollywood stage to the bar-stool mic

Before the podcast and the two-cups tradition, Steve was chasing a different kind of stage — as the lead singer of Drift, a Hollywood-based band, from 1999 to 2006. When the music chapter closed, he raised his right hand and joined the Marine Corps, serving four years before continuing his career in the Army from 2006 to 2026. Two decades in uniform, two branches, one standard: show up, do it right, take care of your people.

Today, as host of One Guy Two Cups, Steve blends the storytelling instincts of a frontman, the humor of a career soldier, and the discipline of a life in service to spark genuine conversations. A devoted family man, he brings heart, discipline, and authenticity to every episode — no scripts, no talking points, just the kind of talk that happens after the second cup.
